The Construction Concentrated OYAP is a program specifically designed to help students make a smooth, successful transition from high school directly into their post-secondary education in a Construction sector apprenticeship. Students will be prepared for academic success in future apprenticeship courses.
Program highlights include the Tiny Home Project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and Indigenous communities, a fully equipped woodworking and construction room, and building pods to provide the shop and work site skills that employers are looking for. Co-op placements are available in a variety of woodworking-related industries including home renovations and house construction, office and kitchen unit construction, cabinet-making, custom wall assemblies, and construction craft worker.
Similar Apprenticeship preparation certificate programs are also offered at local colleges and private technical training centres and can cost between $2,500 and $6,000.
