HDSB robotics teams will attend the 2026 FRC Kickoff (FIRST Robotics Competition) on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with the official game reveal streamed live on the FIRST Robotics Competition YouTube Channel at 12:00 PM ET, unveiling the new "REBUILT" season theme and game challenge. Teams will learn the rules, see the field, and start designing robots.

The 34th annual Elementary Halton Skills Competition, hosted by the Halton District School Board will be held on March 25th & 26th at New St. Education Centre.

The 34th annual Secondary Halton Skills Competition, hosted by the Halton District School Board will be held on March 31st 2026 at Nelson High School. 

Secondary school students compete in events such as 2D Character Animation, Architectural Technology & Design, Auto Collision Repair, Auto Painting, Auto Service ​Technology, Baking, and more. The winners will advance to the Skills Ontario competition in May.

Prior to the provincial-level competition, Niagara College will host Skills Ontario Qualifying Competitions for four select secondary contests (Culinary, Carpentry Individual, TV Video (team of two), and Welding) that students must participate in first to determine who will continue to the provincial level.

Our winners from the Halton Skills Competition will compete at the qualifying round.
